Selling Autographed Skillet Merchandise [26 Apr 2009|04:13pm]

vain_regrets
Hey guys, I've got a few really cool Skillet things I am selling.
1.) The DVD/CD Comatose Comes Alive(which I payed 15 dollars for. It's only been watched/listened to once).
2.) A pair of Skillet 'Comatose Comes Alive' drumsticks from the recording of the live DVD/CD by the same name. They're brand new and have never been used before. They've been sitting on my dresser for months now, and I'm really not doing anything with them. I'm in need of some extra cash right now, so I have decided to sell them. Unfortunate for me, but very fortunate for you. :D
3.) A Comatose Tour 2008 All Access Backstage Pass AUTOGRAPHED BY THE BAND. The pass is void, but it has the bands signatures on it. :D
I was wondering if I put them on ebay, would any of you be interested in buying them? I'd give you the link to the auction as soon as it was put up. If we come to an agreement on a price before the auction, I'll make it a 'buy it now price'. :) I'll even be sure that you are online and ready to buy them as soon as the auction is put up so as to not risk anyone stealing them out from underneath you.
If I don't come to an agreement over price with one person, I'll just let you all battle it out on ebay. ;)

I'm including pictures. You'll be able to view one here, and the rest are under the cut.

I apologize in advance for all the ridiculous x-posting. I just want to get as much word out as possible.

I am happy to announce that the Catholic rock band I'm in, Priestie Boyz at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, (in St. Louis, MO), at which I was formerly a student, has released our CD, Lost in Ecstasy, which is available for purchase on our website, and in select locations in St. Louis (basically, if you're in town, get in touch and I'll hand deliver it to you). You can listen to song previews on the Priestie Boyz' website, and you can also view our press release and artwork (including banners you could use to advertise our album) in the 'Press/Media Kit' area of our website.

I hope that you could help us spread the word about this CD on your blogs/livejournals/myspaces/etc. and among your friends. The Priestie Boyz don't have any advertising budget, so I hope you can help spread the word! We hope that the songs on this CD will bring people closer to Christ and also help people in their vocational discernment.

If you have any questions about the band or the CD (or even about discernment), feel free to reply and ask!

Founded in 2004, the Priestie Boyz are a group of Roman Catholic seminarians studying for the priesthood, and former seminarians like myself, at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. They strive to return their talents to the One who gave them. They believe their music is a prayer, and hope it is a prayer for those who hear it.

Simple Plan's new song actually speaks some truth.

Yeah, I'm a little judgemental about their songs, but in "Crazy" they're talking about how fake people have to be to join the industry of entertainment and I agree with their point. A lot of celebrities in Asia get plastic surgery to look caucasian because they feel more accepted in Asia if they look that way.

Well, I think it's not really smart to alter the way one looks just so one would be accepted.

I also want to congratulate Relient K for having their music appear on secular channels. Way to go! :D

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a lead sheet or even just lyrics to the Big Daddy Weave song "Christ is Come." It's not on any of BDW's albums; it came out on some Christmas compilation last year, so of course, none of the usual lyrics sites have it.

Light and peace in Christ our Lord,

Mike

P.S. apologies for the x-posting.

so... music ... eh? [30 Jul 2005|11:31pm]

upchink
i've never really posted too much in here, just the occasional comment here and there. so i think it's time for change.

music:... i love it. listening, playing, writing. everything. music is sweet. i spend the most of my day playing guitar or piano, occassionally drums, when available. *if only my parents would let me keep my drumset at my house* . i couldn't tell you my favourite band. i love too many different styles of music to pick a favourite. i'm an odd one, i can tell you. my itunes playlist has some pop music, followed by some metalcore music, followed by punk, followed by acoustic rock (i love acoustic guitars), followed by rap.. everything. my friends laugh at me, but it's too much fun. i love music.

i was in a band (before i quit of course :P) and that really opened my eyes to the music out there and what music really is. it has nothing to do with being cool, which i find too many people think that. that really makes me mad as well. music is, for me at least, a way to express my feelings and my views on this world. i hate it when people write music about their girlfriends breaking up with them, and them wanting to slit their wrists for it. it makes me sick. i write most of my songs on the world, what it's like, fighting the hard times, etc. it's really fun. helps me to express myself and it's an easy way for me to talk about what is usually on my mind. how corrupted the world is. it seems so much more useful than writing about a broken heart and looking for pity.

which leads me to my next point. the term "emo" really makes me sick. people make it seem like "emo" music is about sadness and heart break... but what about anger? hopefulness? happiness? etc. aren't those "emo"-tional? i thought they were. they're emotions aren't they? so why can't they be emo? it doens't make great sense to me.

one more thing i find sickening is the large population of people who follow everything the media tells them, about music, about being cool. it's stupid. they all think this is "cool." obsess over a band, but truthfully, it's more like ur obsessed with a song you heard on the radio. and then the radio will over play and EVERYONE will think they're cool cause they listen to one song.

i'd like to write more, but htis is long enough i think, and i'm being forced off to bed. leave some comments or questions if you're interested.

peace
mikey

[ mood | excited ]

Well let me tell you, I am really really really excited. I just found out that Seventh Day Slumber and Krystal Meyers are performing at a local church this Friday! Woohoo. I love SDS and since I live on Christian radio stations I'm sure I've heard Krystal Meyers but I can't think of any songs off the top of my head. So now I'm really excited cause I never figured SDS would come to my lil town of 50,000 people. :)

I know that this is a music discussion community, but I'd like to talk about a book that I found that really disturbed me when it caught my eye. It was called "Finding God in Harry Potter." When I saw the book, I HAD to know what the book was about, so I read the back. The basic synopsis of the book was to find hidden Christian relationships in the book. No, I did not really read the book, but I might read it to do some research, but God clearly stated that no one should practice Witchcraft or sorcery. The whole book defies God's will... Why would God be IN such a book?

Of course, I'm just rambling, but I'd love your opinions about that Harry Potter Series.

In the lastest issue of Breakaway (A guys christian magazine), they held an in interview with Relient K and there were only three members. Does anyone know what this means? Is it just because the other two members couldn't make it? Or...?

While we're at it, why don't we all post our favorite Relient K song: Mines is Sadies Hawkins Dance..

Reliant K Question [01 Jun 2005|08:36pm]

[ mood | confused ]

Hello Everyone! I've never posted before, but keep caught up with everyone else's posts. My name is Jess and I am a full time student at Lower Columbia College in Washington state. I have a question for all you Reliant K fans out there. I was browsing their site today and noticed that they will be in my area this July. However, they are a part of this tour called "Vans Warped Tour." When I looked into it a little more, I realized I had NO IDEA who the other artists were. Well, I recognized Billy Idol, but he is not a Christian artist (as we know ;). Have any of you ever heard of this tour? Is it worth attending? I'd really appreciate to hear what you all think. Thanks for reading! God bless!!! ><> Jess <>

Ok i'm like a total Relient K freak fan. lol they are really cool and i love them and listen to them non stop. So on their latest cd "MMHMM" does it seem to u like they are singin less christian things? it seems they are going more neutral in a way. i'm part of a relient k lovers community and this was recently brought up with the christians and non christians. In a way im dissapointed but i still really like the songs. i hope im gettin my question clear..lol. Ok does it seem to u like they are moving away from the christian things to go more neutral to get more fans? or is it just time for a change for them so thats why its seems this way? i hope i didnt confuse u..im sry its hard to get the question the way i want it! I'd love to hear what u got to say!

I have to make a comment about Rebecca St. James' song "Don't Worry." We really need to take to heart what this song tells us. God also tells us this... escially since finals are really soon or going on right now, we need not worry.

Luke 12:22-31
22Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

So don't worry or else you'll lose sight of God.

Selah? [11 May 2005|09:17pm]

jump5fan_icons
I was just wondering if anyone here were fans of Selah, or if anyone was familiar with any of their solo projects. I think they're great singers and My fave songs by them are "All My Praise", "You Raise Me Up", and "Esengo"... also, their solo projects are GREAT! The group members are Alan Hall, Todd Smith and Nicol Sponberg (she was Nicol Smith, Todd's sister, until she got married!). I really recommend those who haven't heard them to take a listen to them... also, check out THE CROSS... this is my radio show, it's cancelled over the summer but during the fall/winter semesters, I have this show, hope everyone listens in Sept!

The New Girl [04 May 2005|09:22pm]

[ mood | blah ]

Yeah, I'm new. My name is Lindsay, and there isn't much to tell about me. I'm 20. I live in Chicago, and I pray nightly. I also have come across some hard times, and I'm trying to look to Him more for help rather than solving things myself and screwing them up even worse. He has always helped me before, and I'm hoping I don't sound like a whiney little girl to Him.

Recently, I've been to a pro-life convention in Evansville, Indiana, where Rebecca St. James preformed a few songs, including "Wait For Me." She signed my t-shirt. I am so blessed to have met her. She is amazingly nice, you guys.

Sadly, my hard times includes lack of funds. I'm wondering if my money problems can be to your advantage. I'm selling my Rebecca St. James autographed T-shirt.Collapse )
